How to reach Palermo
The Central Station of Palermo is located in Piazza Giulio Cesare and is connected to the national railway line (Trenitalia). For the routes that require the passage of the Strait of Messina, the train embarks on the ferry (for example if you are coming from Milan, Rome or Naples).

Palermo is the ideal junction node of the three main branches of the motorway network in Sicily:
- A19 Catania - Palermo: the route is about 220 km.
- A20 Messina - Palermo: the route is about 230 km.
- A29 Trapani - Palermo: the route is about 110 km.
The A20 runs along the Tyrrhenian coast from Messina after crossing the Strait by ferry services active during the day.

Two airports allow getting to Palermo easily: Palermo International Falcone Borsellino Airport (PMO) and Trapani-Birgi "Vincenzo Florio" Airport (TPS).
Palermo International Falcone Borsellino Airport (PMO).
Falcone-Borsellino Airport is at Punta Raisi, 35km (22 miles) northwest of Palermo on the A29 motorway. There are regular flights between Palermo and most mainland Italian/European/Overseas cities.

Located at the Arrivals exit, there is an airport Taxi service that has been coordinated with the flight arrival timetable.
The fare to/from Palermo is between € 35 and € 40, depending on your arrival time (day or night) in the airport and the route takes 30 - 40 minutes.

By Car Rental
All the major car-hire companies are represented at the airport. If you rent a car at the airport, take the A29 motorway in the direction of Palermo and take the exit for Mondello.

Trapani-Birgi "Vincenzo Florio" Airport (TPS)
The Trapani airport (TPS) is 60 km away from Palermo. This airport has many flights on low-cost airlines from elsewhere in Europe.
From Airport (TPS) to Palermo centre and vice versa
Terravision operates a shuttle bus service between Trapani airport and Palermo city centre, in partnership with Autoservizi Salemi.
Tickets can be purchased at the Terravision airport desk, from ticket machines at bus stops along the route and beforehand through the website of Terravision.
