Joaquín Izquierdo
has a PhD in Mathematics and is a full professor of Applied Mathematics at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). His educational career has been developed in the UPV, lecturing in algebra, calculus, differential equations, numerical methods applied to engineering, etc. His research activity as the Director of the research group FluIng (fluing.upv.es) within the Institute for Multidisciplinary Mathematics (IMM) is devoted to mathematical modelling, knowledge-based systems and DSSs in Engineering (mainly Urban Hydraulics). He is author and editor of several books, author or co-author of more than 300 research papers, book chapters and contributions to international events (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Joaquin_Izquierdo/contributions). He has directed 10 Doctoral Dissertations and is currently tutor of eight on-going theses. He performs consulting in water resources in the context of Urban Hydraulics. He has wide experience in continuous professional development for Spanish and Latin-American professionals. He is author of commercial computer simulation packages. He organizes periodically international scientific events. He has participated in R&D projects at various levels: local (UPV), regional (Comunitat Valenciana), national (CICYT, Cooperación Iberoamericana), European (COMETT, TEMPUS, ERASMUS, EUROFORM, ADAPT, FEDER, UE DG Environment), and international (NATO).



Daniele Rossi
is the Delegate of Research & Innovation in the Confederation of Farmers – Confagricoltura. He was a statistician and a researcher in Social Sciences in the CENSIS Foundation, Cost-Benefit Analyst in IRI Industrial SpA, Administrator of CONAI (Public Private Consortium on Packaging Recovery and Recycling), Director General/CEO/Chairman in the European and Italian Food and Drink Industry based in Bruxelles, Milan, Rome. He has European skills on External Trade, Agri - Industrial Development, Research and Innovation Policies. He is currently also Chairman of the Research & Innovation WP - Copa Cogeca, Bruxelles; Chairman of the European National Technology Platforms “Food For Life” (Bruxelles) and Custodian of some companies under prevention mafia Law Court.



Arrigo Pareschi
has been full professor of industrial systems engineering at the Department of Industrial Engineering of Bologna University till 31th October 2015. He was dean of Engineering Faculty of Bologna University from 1995 to 2001 and president of Commission for scientific research and of the “Spin-off” Committee of the University of Bologna. He is author of five books and over 100 scientific papers (both experimental and theoretical) concerning industrial and mechanical plants and systems, logistics and technological innovation. In this area he has carried out assignments for several public authorities, like for example the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Public-Works, the Emilia-Romagna Region, the Municipality of Bologna and many others. Moreover, he has cooperated with different companies for the rationalization and innovation of production processes and systems, both in terms of technology optimization and management improvement.
